QAG GOMA Winter Markets

Everingham & Watson are delightful to be involved with the QAG/ GOMA Winter Markets.

Liz worked there for many years, so its always lovely seeing old faces and meeting lots of new ones.  While its a winter market, expect lots of colour from E&W + some new and exciting pieces.

The market cooicides with a new exhibition Quilts 1700 – 1945

Explore over 200 years of British quiltmaking. Every stitch tells a story.

Quilts stimulate memories of warmth, comfort and security. They are familiar objects, yet carry a range of hidden histories and untold stories about textiles, women’s creativity and the lives of individuals and families. British quilts were often made for display as much as for use in the bedroom. Whether exchanged as commodities, made in professional workshops or created in the home, they became objects of immense family value, handed down through the generations.

Looking forward to seeing you there!

Primary coloured paring knives – Opinel

We just got these stunning primary coloured paring knives in. These little beauties are made in France by Opinel.

In 1890, Joseph Opinel founded his company based on three core values: simplicity, reliability and efficiency. These days, not much has changed.

  • Each blade is made from the finest quality, corrosion-resistant stainless steel.
  • The blades are sharpened by hand before they leave the Opinel factory.
  • Varnished wooden handles are dishwasher friendly.
  • Each handle is a different primary colour
  • Presented as a set of four knives in an Opinel gift box.

Gorgeous, useful and fun!

Our desk

The process setting up our showroom has been fun and physically a bit taxing!
We’ve been busy painting and cleaning and drilling and arguing ( we get over these tiffs pretty quickly!)
It’s all worth it now that we are in and settled and we’re enjoying the space as an office and also for manufacturing some of our products.

We have been lucky to have had Susie’s brother Andrew (affectionately known by family as Fred) help us make our furniture.  Like all young businesses, we like to in source where possible to save costs and we lucky to have some talent in the family!  Andrew held true to loving brotherly form and persisted with the misgivings of our original plans to come up with desks and tables that we think are smashing!

Fred made the desks, then we screen printed them.  A big thanks to Fred, we love you, and your stuff!

Ps – Fred also makes our Fred Boards!
